Factory Direct: In and out of rehab before it was ever a trend

Who doesn't want to be this girl.

Recently watched Factory Girl for the millionth time; now re-obsessed with Edie and Andy.
Always seen with a Viceroy and a drink in hand; reminds me of Julian [via Trailer Park Boys], kidding! But then I really get to thinking who does she remind me of... Paris Hilton, maybe. Only because she's a party girl famous for doing nothing. Edie set trends, got people going in a good way. Edie's classy, elegant, and mysterious, everything P Hilton isn't. Kate Moss, nah. Yea, Moss has style. Class, not really; elegance, nope; mystery, just a bit. Edie cannot be compared to anyone, why am I even trying.
No one could ever live up to the spectacle Edie created around herself, with Andy's help of course.
Sedgwick's life was tragic. Old money, young girl moves to New York, makes all the right friends, party's a little too hard, a little too naive, battles with eating disorder, squanders her entire inheritance [in record time], takes too many drugs, dies of drug overdose; the classic story of which she cultivated.
She was the girl that made all the right mistakes with poise.
She's perfection, she's walking art.
It's too hard to emulate her without coming off as pretentious nowadays, how unfortunate.

Who wants live past 30 anyway.

Just one second while i put on my face.

Ok, so with me make-up is a serious issue. Every women needs makeup, I don't care if your going for that "no makeup look" you still need to put it on whether it be a little bit of concealer, mascara, blush or a tinted lip balm...Maybe I'm just being a biased asshole about the matter because I hope to be a make-up artist in the near future, but honestly ladies wear something. I'd feel absolutely naked without it, kinda sad.
If you're just starting off with makeup I'd suggest the drugstore for cheaper finds just in case you end up not liking it -gasp-, but in all honesty I prefer that you check out your nearest MAC for the basics. It's really easy to ask them questions about colour and the like and your guaranteed them knowing their stuff. Sephora would be my second choice because they have so many brands to choose from, but I just find that it's harder to ask the employees questions because they can't be an expert on every brand Sephora has to offer right? So things are less clear. Ideally, when I go into Sephora I already know what I want and get the heck outta there. A department store such as the Bay is also a great option, they also have a lot more selection if you want a brand other than MAC. I like the employees there too because even though they rotate booths they have to know something significant about each brand therefore insuring a knowledgeable answer to your makeup questions or needs. For starting off a collection I'd still check out MAC first though because it's all one brand in the same place, the employees are EXPERTS on their brand and they have EVERYTHING.

That is all.

hiyo, hiyo!! ripped_denim.jpg, jpeg....

.... Major problems with commitment, 'nuff said. Life has been an interesting rollercoaster for the past few months, now I'm back to being bored with things on my mind, like ripped denim. Why oh, why do we buy pre- torn jeans? Especially when they cost you a couple hundred $$$'$ It won't everrr go away. The whole "I have money, but want to look like I don't" thing is driving me crazy. I could harp on and on about it and I will, later. Now is the time to discuss the jeans. I understand that people probably don't wear their jeans enough , or in harsh enough conditions to get the perfectly placed holes and rips of "I've had these jeans for 20 odd years and work fucking hard in them" But, I have to say I'd buy a nice cheap pair and DIY. I own a pair of TR's with a couple of small slightly ripped areas, but that's the best I can do...
This is just utter blasphemy.

Palettes!!!

WOOO!!! TWO New Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, Book of Shadows and Sustainable came out around the beginning of October. I was completely unaware, obviously. I neeeed the Book of Shadows palette so badly, I'm definitely going out to buy it tomorrow/ later today as it's 1:30am.
Book of Shadows features sixteen eyeshadows, eight of which are new and the other eight are best-sellers. Amazing, because I've been wanting to try their best sellers like Shattered, Baked and Midnight Cowboy for so long but never felt like buying the individual ones. I heard that the packaging is annoying though, the concept seems cool with a pull out drawer, big mirror and pop up shapes, but it's eyeshadow, people just want to put on their makeup. Urban Decay should know better about inconvenient packaging what with their Primer Potion bottle causing upheaval over its wasteful design. Tsk, tsk Urban Decay.
In the set are:
Perversion, Last Call, Grifter, Mayhem, Baked, Smog, Sidecar, Gridlock, Shakedown, Roach, Scandal, Midnight Cowboy, Goddess, Shattered, Absinthe, and Protest + 2 mini brushes and mini UDPP

As for the the Sustainable palette, I'm not so crazy over it. It has nice colours, but they aren't as exciting and it doesn't have as many eyeshadows (ten) as the Book of Shadows.
In the set are:
YDK, Flipside, Grifter, Uzi, Twice Baked, Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Flash, Oil Slick, Kiddie Pool and Half Baked + 1 mini brush and mini UDPP

JGHSJHG, I can't wait to pick up Book of Shadows tommorow!! As soon as I do I'll make a video review. =)

Oh my goodness, I FINALLY got to looking at the remainder of fashion week photos. I chose to compile images from 6 different designers, four of which I wasn't expecting great things from; but they proved me wrong.

Melinda Mae Harlington- took on a Native theme with soft ruffle dresses in awesome spring colours.
Morales- had nice dresses, I can't put my finger on what I like about this collection.
Nada Yousif- This collection was one of the more high fashion looking of the bunch, I love it.
Fanshawe College- The students at Fanshawe College really turned out some great pieces, unexpected from a college that doesn't seem so great... lol. Oops, did I just say that?
Rudsak- didn't fail to impress. I'm not really into long spring coats, which comprised half their collection, but the leather jackets were so amazing; as always. The pink leather was jaw drop worthy. I want, I want, I want!
GSUS Industries- on racks their clothes look phenomenal and so unique, but unfortunately doesn't always look so impressive on the runway. They make up for it by putting on entertaining shows.

My Halloween Look

Hope everyone had an awesome Halloween!
This is what I did:
Obviously a mash up "two- faced" look inspired by MAC face charts from 2007/2008 and Petriludes video tutorials.
Haa, going to school like this in the morning was epic! The pointing, starring, awkward glances and general avoidance of me was hilarious and quite flattering. I obviously accomplished everything I wanted to by attracting so much attention over this.

Quick video of what I used, my MAC haul and my makeup collection.
